I just finished watching game 5 of the Thunder-Grizzlies game with my 12-year-old basketball-minded son. He has several hours of NBA 2K 13 under his belt, but I have years and years of watching basketball. It seems like just yesterday, the Knicks beat the Lakers in Game 7 at the Garden. Walt Frazier led the Knicks that night to win the Championship. My dad let me stay up and watch the game on our rotor antennae TV ( year-old color TV). If you remember that series, the Knicks had to deal with a knee injury to Willis Reed and the 3/4 court shot at the buzzer by the Lakers (I think Game 5) at the old LA Forum.
The game tonight was marked by the Donald Sterling mess, but I am having a hard time watching the NBA with all the lack of defense, dumb mental mistakes, and the inconsistency of foul calling. Oh yeah!, do not forget to add instant replay reviews (when the game is under 2 minutes in the 4th quarter. Is it not true that most of the league teams are losing money? I will also make a point that the league should stop poaching post-freshman players from college. It is ruining college basketball and also the NBA.
I guess I can always watch youtube videos of old Knick games back in the 1970 or 1973 season.
